Sick

I have a cold. And not getting good sleep for the past few days doesn't help either.

Book Spree

Went to Glorietta yesterday though and visited the four bookstores there (A Different Bookstore, Goodwill, Powerbooks, and Bibliarch, in that order). Left the mall with four plastic bags from four different bookstores.

Agh. I'm not supposed to be spending this much. And I haven't even done my Christmas shopping yet (mental note: mail Vern her gift before the start of December).

Lost Time

Most of my days have been spent eating and sleeping. I feel so unproductive. Then again, I have a cold.

Had to cancel my trip with Vin to Batangas, and my workshop also got cancelled. Which means more time for me to recuperate, and for me to enjoy reading my two new D&D books (Book of Exalted Deeds and Miniatures Handbook).

Freedom

Somehow, I can relax now that I'm done revising my drafts. Sure, my revision's bad (you should have seen the original), but at least there's progress, and I'm done with it. Making it better is next week's problem. Right now, I just want to relaxxxxxxxx...

Choking

My room is far from air-tight and someone last night was burning something so I couldn't sleep and had to sneak in the middle of the morning to the guest room.

Of course right now I smell smoke again...

The Horror!

Well, today's my deadline for turning in my revise stories for my course (which will be workshopped during the weekend). I literally locked myself up in my room for the past three days and haven't left the house just to complete the, uh, stories.

Well, only one's done so far and you can check it at my other blog.

Right now, it's at the stage where even I can't read it without choking.

50+ Emails

And more than 40 of them is SPAM!

For Interested Writers and/or Comic Artists

For writers, there's NaNoWrMo in November, which is one whole month full dedicated to churning out a novel (never mind revising, just start writing!). It's probably the equivalent of a 24-hour comic in comics, but uh, I don't think anyone these days can churn out a novel in 24 hours.

NaNoMangO (don't ask why) is the, uh, alternative to those who are gifted with the skill of knowing how to actually draw (which sadly does not include me).

The Call of Cthulhu

I'm done with The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror courtesy of Vin and I'm now moving on to some Lovecraftian horrors.

Of course I happened to be having the weirdest dreams for the past few days (complete with blood, gore, killings, and encounters of the supernatural sort)...

Fantasy vs Magic Realism

Terry Pratchett's take during a recent interview:

"Magic realism is fantasy wearing a collar and tie. Magic realism is a term invented by the viewers when one of their chums has written a fantasy novel but they don't want to tar them with the blush of "fantasy" 'cause everyone knows that's all about sword and sorcery and idiot stuff like that."

Justice League vs Cthullu

After seeing today's episode, I don't know whether to be happy or sad.

And there's no mistaking the tentacled creature since they even claim he's one of the "Old Ones".

Nice death for Solomon Grundy though. And the return of Aquaman!

Bush

Well, thankfully no one assassinated him, because as much as I want him dead, retaliating Americans might turn the Philippines into another Iraq.
