[Blog Entry] The Writers are Going to Comics
The Writers are Going to Comics
One of the surprising trends in comics for the past few years is the increasing number of writers (usually but not limited to SF&F) contributing to the comic scene. Orson Scott Card wrote the scripts Ultimate Iron Man. Joss Whedon's behind the current run of Astonishing X-Men. Javier Grillo-Marxuach, writer for the popular TV series Lost, will be doing some work for Marvel.
Of course Devil's Due Publishing has also been adapting several fantasy short stories into comics, from George R.R. Martin's Hedge Knight to Robert Jordan's New Spring to Raymond E. Feist's The Woodboy, as well as some Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms stories.
Of more recent note, Tamora Pierce and Laurell K. Hamilton is joining the bandwagon.
