The SF&F Serials Seldom Get It Right

I was sorely disappointed in last year's The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror Anthology, at least in the part where they were doing a year-in-review of anime/manga, mainly because the writer didn't really know what she was talking about. Apparently, they're not the only ones who did it wrong, as can be seen in this article by Locus magazine (courtesy of Vern). Maybe it's just me, and I'm one of the few people who multiclass as a SF&F buff and anime/manga.
